Research area
The team of Dr. Tiancheng Mu focus on the key scientific applications of green chemistry, also called sustainable chemistry, in the field of energy, environment, catalysis, and advanced materials. Currently, the group is active in major research areas including:
(1) Green synthesis or process of new nanomaterials applying to electrical energy storage, environmental pollution treatment, and electrocatalysis;
(2) Designing environmental friendly solvent systems in the catalytic reaction, as substitutions of the traditional organic solvent, to achieve efficient conversion of reactants and rapid separation of products;
(3) Efficient dissolution and separation of natural products (biomacromolecule) using the modern green process theory and methods;
(4) Comprehensive physicochemical property and frontier hot applications of green solvents such as ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents, and supercritical carbon dioxide;
(5) Key technologies for dissolution and finishing of rare earth metal ore.
